In the end, it just doesn’t add up. You can’t simply pull $10 billion in revenue out of the federal treasury and think it won’t have a reverberating effect elsewhere. You also can’t just simply rob Peter to pay Paul and call it a solution – no matter how rich Peter is or how little your paying Paul.

So let’s just call a spade a spade here. This is just an election year gimmick – plain and simple.

Ben Chandler’s endorsement of Barack Obama is absolutely meaningless. He carries no clout in Kentucky and is simply grabbing a headline for himself locally. For all the good it will do him, Obama might as well have been endorsed by Ben Chandler’s dog…

After hearing those snippets taken out of context played and replayed ad nauseum, I assumed that Rev. Wright was a well-meaning asshole who was demonstrating the law of unintended results.

After watching this lengthy interview, I have come away with a totally different impression. Rev. Wright is an intelligent and learned, skilled orator. He made valid points that we all should reflect upon and if we do not, it will be at our own peril.

Those snippets, played out of context, were just as misleading as the reasons that were given to Americans for invading Iraq.

I would submit that anyone who watches this interview and continues to condemn Wright actually would prefer that the USA to be a dictatorship rather than a democracy.
